Tyrell was a prisoner at Shawshank State Prison.
Character Biography
In early 1947, he pulled infirmary duty, and was asked by Heywood how Fat Ass was doing after he was beaten by Captain Hadley. Tyrell told him that he died because Hadley busted up his head, and the doctor had gone home for the night.
In 1955, Tyrell was again on infirmary duty when he heard the music piece from "The Marriage of Figaro" being played through the speaker by Andy Dufresne for the entire prison to hear.
